Montegrappa F1® Speed Racing Red Fountain Pen
PUSHING THE ENVELOPE: FORMULA 1® EXTENDS ITS LEAD WITH LUXURY PENS
Following the 2020 release of the F1® Seventy, the lights are turning green for our next official Formula 1® project. The limited-edition F1® Speed collection is on the grid, led by Racing Red and ready to rush to you from the end of June, 2021.
Last year’s commemorative release added a high-tech twist to a classical silhouette, but the F1® Speed collection is a modern thoroughbred – crafting hi-tech materials and finishes into a silhouette with obvious allusions to Formula 1 high-tech design.
The collection is made from carbon fibre and high-gloss, lacquered brass – complemented by satin-finish, ruthenium-brass hardware. Other detailing includes a sterling-silver finial core, hi-visibility resin accents and a scorched stainless-steel barrel end.
Aerodynamic contours are found in a radical flared barrel, graduated step and clip, and are inspired by lines of Formula 1’s next-generation 2022 design package. F1® branding on the clip is hand-enamelled, as is the Montegrappa insignia – boldly positioned on the finial tyre element.
F1® Speed – Racing Red is available in rollerball and fountain pen editions of 372 pieces – a reference to the top speed ever recorded in a FIA Formula One World Championship race (Juan Pablo Montoya/McLaren-Mercedes at the 2005 Italian Grand Prix).
Fountain pens are cartridge/converter-driven, and are fitted with a ruthenium-plated, 6mm 18K gold custom F1® logo nib (EF, F, M, B, BB, Stub 1.1). Custom packaging is a scaled-up version of our Premium packaging finished in racing-red and black with the F1® logo.
