Presented for sale here is a vintage Montblanc Rouge Et Noir #4 Safety Filler Fountain Pen.
This pen has the correct #4 nib, the nib is nice and flexible. Will be a beautiful writer if someone was so inclined. The overlay adds size to these pens. So even though this is a #4 which considered small by todays modern pens, the overlay adds size to it so its more like a #6 sized pen.
Rouge Et Noir pens were the first pens made by Montblanc, in fact, they company was named so before 1910 when they changed to Montblanc. These pens were only made from 1908-1920.
The condition of this pen is Fantastic, the clip is amazing with its deep engraving, the Rouge Star is remarkable. The overlay is fantastic with only a few marks on it. With the exception of the of the hard rubber fading and the few marks on the overlay from over 100 years of use, it could still be sitting in a store window in 1908. Its really an amazing find.
The pen is fully restored by one of the most well known and respected restorers Osman Sümer.
