The safety eyedropper fountain pen stands out for combining the simplicity of the eyedropper fill system with the practical innovation of a retractable nib, making it both functional and historically significant. The design and mechanism of this fountain pen was internally studied, tested and produced inside our workshop. The fountain pen comes with a precious number 8 Santini Italia made-in-house nib, 14kt gold.
Eyedropper Filling Mechanism
- The pen body acts as the ink reservoir, and ink is filled directly into the barrel using an eyedropper or syringe—no cartridge or converter is used.
Safety Mechanism (Retractable Nib)
- Unlike regular eyedropper pens, safety pen has a retractable nib. You twist a knob on the barrel end to extend the nib for writing or retract it for storage.
- When retracted, the nib is sealed inside the barrel by an internal cap, making the pen leak-proof—this was especially important when people carried pens in their pockets.
Leak-Resistance
- The term “safety” refers to its secure design: ink won’t leak even if the pen is jostled or carried around.
