Germany’s entry leans into nature, literally. The Graf von Faber-Castell Bloom series is built around a floral reinterpretation of the house’s classic fluting, soft curves and dynamic volume the maker calls the Bloom profile.
The Hornbeam version pairs a barrel of native hornbeam wood, individually handcrafted, with high-precision milled brass and 18-carat gold-plated metal parts—the warm wood grain providing a fresh summer aesthetic. Its nib is a handmade 14-carat gold nib with an iridium tip, gold-coated and run in by hand, offered in EF, F, M, and B. This pen measures 140 mm capped, weighs 56 grams, fills by cartridge or converter, and is handmade in Germany.
ASC Bologna Extra Forest Green Midorigi
Italy’s Armando Simoni Club brings a bold summer green to the mix. The Bologna Extra Forest Green Midorigi, its name meaning New Green Trees, draws on deep, ancient forests, its rich green diffusion-bonded acrylic moving like sunlight filtering through leaves. Collectors will recognize the material as part of the Andy Lambrou family of diffusion-bonded acrylics, with real depth and a layered texture the maker likens to gemstone.
This pen carries ASC’s signature oversized #8 14k gold nib in Fine or Medium and a robust piston filler. Two trims are offered as variants of the pen: a radiant gold trim for a warm, classic finish, limited to 65 pieces, and a dark ruthenium trim for a mist-through-the-trees look, a Chatterley exclusive limited to 10 pieces.
Visconti Homo Sapiens Nebula Eagle
Florence’s Visconti reaches for the cosmos. The Homo Sapiens Nebula Eagle is one of the first two releases in the new Nebula collection, its exclusive acrylic resin developed with a specialist Italian laboratory and made only for Visconti. Eagle mixes cool turquoise with white, green, and brown, translating the movement of a nebula into swirls of chromatic depth, transparency, and luminous silver reflections, so no two pens are alike.
The name nods to the Eagle Nebula and its celebrated Pillars of Creation. It carries Visconti’s in-house 18kt gold nib in sizes from EF to Stub, the double reservoir power filler, and the Hook Safe Lock closure, with yellow gold-plated trim. This pen is limited to 388 pieces worldwide.
S.T. Dupont 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
The season’s grand statement comes from Paris. The S.T. Dupont 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Prestige Writing Kit pays tribute to Jules Verne and Captain Nemo’s motto, Mobilis in Mobile, moving within the moving element. The writing kit centers on a Line D Eternity XL pen with interchangeable rollerball and fountain-pen sections, finished in deep marine blue with guilloché engravings that animate the novel’s famous squid, a moving propeller at the base, a porthole top cap, and a clip drawn from a navigation compass.
It arrives with a squid pen stand and a replica of the Nautilus, and it is made in S.T. Dupont’s workshops in Faverges, France. This one is limited to 150 numbered pieces worldwide.
Pilot Custom 845 Prussian Blue
A unique deep-blue collector’s item from Japan is the Pilot Custom 845 in Prussian Blue, a new finish alongside the line’s classic black and vermillion. The color, known in Japanese as Kon-jo, is notoriously difficult to achieve, built up through traditional urushi lacquer that is layered, cured, and polished to a deep, lustrous finish.
Pilot uses authentic Japanese urushi and pairs the body with a two-toned 18k gold No. 15 nib and gold accents. It suits a range of writing styles, offered in Fine, Medium, Broad, and Double Broad, and it ships with a CON-70 converter and a cartridge in a silk-lined gift box.
Platinum #3776 Century Travia FLAF
For everyday summer writing, the Platinum #3776 Century Travia is the value pick of the group. Travia combines Tradition and via, Latin for path, extending the #3776 line that began in 1978 and took its name from Mount Fuji’s height of 3,776 meters.
It debuts the Float Like A Feather, or FLAF, nib, whose sharper tip is designed to glide across the paper, and it adds a long body with a metal balancer for steady weight during long sessions. A black-plated trim and a ruthenium-plated 14kt gold nib give it a quiet, modern presence, and Platinum’s Slip and Seal mechanism helps keep ink from drying out for years. The first production batch is limited to 2,000 sets with a commemorative booklet.
Yard-O-Led Grand Martelé
Britain closes the list in silver. The Yard-O-Led Grand Martelé takes the house’s iconic Grand model and gives it a hand-hammered martelé finish, each sterling silver cap and barrel worked by hand for hours with a planishing hammer so the surface catches light with individual variation—no two are alike.
It pairs finely crafted 925 sterling silver with brass components and the signature Yard-O-Led clip, with each clip individually numbered, and is the first Grand ever to feature a screw cap. An 18kt gold nib comes in Fine, Medium, or Broad. It is produced in limited annual quantities and crafted in Birmingham in the British silversmithing tradition.
