Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Edition Pays homage to Daniel Defoe, an English writer, pamphleteer, and journalist best known for writing “Robinson Crusoe” (1719), the story of a man shipwrecked on an island. Defoe is considered one of the fathers of the English novel. “Robinson Crusoe” marked the beginning of realistic fiction as a literary genre.
The shape recalls the oar with which Crusoe tried to escape from the abandoned island. The pattern evokes the grain of the wood, and the details are inspired by the original cover of the book “Robinson Crusoe.” The clip is a feather, a reference to Robinson Crusoe’s faithful companion, his parrot.
