Namiki Emperor Maki-e Yabusame Limited Edition Fountain Pen
This pen pre-owned, but never inked or dipped and like new. The pen comes complete with a box, papers, ink and a leather pen case. It is equipped with an 18k Large #50 Medium nib and fills via Eye Dropper. This pen is made by master Michifumi Kawaguchi.
The Namiki Limited Edition Emperor Yabusame Fountain Pen is a beautiful display of one of Japan’s ancient traditions, Horseback Archery. Dating back to the Kamkura period, this tradition had archers clad in the hunting outfit of medieval warriors while they shoot at three targets as they race on horseback. This amazing feat of athletic precision would help the samurai hone their archery skills.
Blooming flowers, wooden targets and beautiful athleticism are beautifully captured as the Taka (Raised) Maki-e technique brings the scene to life.
