Elephant & Coral Singapore celebrated its 9th Anniversary in 2005. On this joyous occasion, Pilot Japan makes this rare Vermillion Red edition of Pilot Limited Edition Seki Shun Red Urushi Fountain Pen to recognize the company for its contribution to promoting Namiki brand in Singapore and to the world of Namiki Pen collectors.
Seki Shun 惜春 meaning “Pining for Spring”, this pen is exquisitely designed by Pilot Japan to commemorate Elephant & Coral’s 9th anniversary. Limited to 50 pieces of Pilot Limited Edition Seki Shun Red Urushi Fountain Pen and 50 pieces of Pilot Limited Edition Seki Shun Black Urushi fountain pen, each pen comes with Pilot’s 18 karat yellow gold nib decorated with five stars and a crescent moon, which signify youth and aspiration respectively. Each pen comes in an urushi lacquered box with a custom ink bottle and Japanese writing paper.
吉田久齋 Kyusai Yoshida, the Chief Designer of Pilot’s Kokokai 國光會, was personally involved in this exclusive collection of Pilot Limited Edition Seki Shun Red Urushi Fountain Pen and in choosing the name.
Historically, there is probably no foreign company name (non-Japanese) , other than Dunhill Namiki, has ever been made such a rare collection of Urushi pen by Pilot Japan. Hence, this is a highly prized collectible piece in the collection of any serious Namiki or Pilot pen collector.
