Sailor 1911 Full-Size Rei Urushi Tsugaru Sabi Nuri Fountain Pen
This pen has been lovingly used. It comes complete with its original box and papers. It is equipped with a 21kt H-M nib that has been modified to a Cursive Italic by John Mottishaw.
Sailor Rei Urushi-nuri series consists of three designs by two different artists from Japan’s Wajima region and Aomori Prefecture. The three models are namely Tsugaru Sabi Nuri, Wajima Akebono nuri and Wajima Tame Nuri. The pen which is slightly larger than a 1911 Large, but smaller than a King of Pen.
Tsugaru Sabi Nuri fountain pen crafted by lacquer artist Hirokazu Shimamori using the the traditional Tsugaru nuri technique from the Aomori Prefecture. Application of overlapping uneven layers of urushi lacquer over the ebonite body.
