Sailor & Satellite Crayon Project Fountain Pen of the Seas King Of Pen “Eleuthera Island” Fountain Pen

The SATELLITE CRAYON PROJECT, known for transforming “real colors of the Earth” into crayons, proudly announces a new initiative: the launch of a color brand inspired by “Earth colors as seen from space.” As the first installment of this initiative, SAILOR Pen Co., Ltd. will release a limited-edition collaboration product — the Ocean Fountain Pen and Bottled Ink for Fountain Pens — simultaneously worldwide on Saturday, June 21, 2025. SKY Perfect JSAT, the founder of the project, has long sought collaborations with brands that resonate with its values.
“SATELLITE CRAYON PROJECT” is a brand by SKY Perfect JSAT that began with creating crayons based on the actual colors of the Earth captured in satellite imagery. The numbers depicted on the products represent the latitude and longitude of the location where the color was sampled. Discover more about these “unnamed yet meaningful colors” that truly exist on our planet.
To contribute to the environmental protection of the Seto Inland Sea, a portion of the proceeds from these products went to Hiroshima Prefecture which operates GSHIP, a public-private partnership platform that conducts activities to counter marine plastic pollution.
This series features colors of the sea captured in satellite images from space, showcasing the diverse hues created by Earth’s rich natural environments. Each color, though unnamed, holds a story and significance, representing treasures of our planet. We hope that these fountain pens, converters, and inks inspire you to learn more about and cherish our Earth.
In 2023, a vacuum-insulated bottle reproducing the colors of Earth’s oceans was launched in partnership with TIGER Corporation. Now, the partnership with SAILOR marks the first full-fledged product from the new color brand.
The three colors chosen for this inaugural release are derived from the Crayons of the Seas series: —
- Eleuthera Island: capturing the ocean hues off the western coast of Eleuthera in the Bahamas
- Amami Oshima: inspired by the vibrant waters surrounding Japan’s Amami Oshima
- Syvash: representing the surreal, pink-hued shallow lagoons of the Syvash on the northwestern coast of the Sea of Azov
True to the crayon series’ concept, the pens and inks do not carry traditional color names. Instead, each is engraved with the latitude and longitude of the exact location from which the color was sampled, inviting users to experience the Earth’s palette through everyday writing.
This collaboration is also a heartfelt invitation to those who have supported our Crayons of the Seas, Crayons of the Mountains, and Crayons of the Lakes to bring a piece of the Earth into their hands in a new form.
