Visconti Fountain Pen Limited Edition
Visconti’s latest creation pays homage to the Wild West, a pen recalling the ideals of freedom and liberty on the Frontier. The American Frontier comprises the geography, folklore, history and cultural expression of life in the wave of American expansion that began with English colonial settlements in the early 17th century and ended with the admission of the last mainland territories as states in 1912.
The Visconti ‘Wild West’ The image of the cowboy with his colt held aloft, riding through the prairie on his horse, has been seen in many Western movies and is the true spirit of the Frontier. Visconti replicates this image on the barrel of the pen using their sophisticated scrimshaw technique. Further reverence is revealed in the pen’s clip, the classic Visconti logo has been replaced with the words ‘Wild West’ in a font type recalling a typical Western saloon. All other components of the pen were inspired from the same iconography; the leather is hot embossed like a cowboy’s saddle and boots, the blind cap features two revolvers crossing and the pen’s plunger reveals the sheriff star. All trims are made of aged sterling silver and are elaborately ornate to recall Silverton, the famous town of silver, connected to Durango from the same train that saw the exploits of Sheriff Wyatt Earp.
The pen is packaged together with a scroll in a special collector’s edition box made from American walnut wood. The top of the box is made from the same leather as the pen. The Wild West is available in fountain pen with 23kt palladium nib and power filler.
