This fountain pen and Ball Point was created in order to celebrate the 500 years anniversary of the famous Amerigo Vespucci explorer.
This navigator, a native of Florence, was the first to put forth the assumption that the coast of South America constituted a new continent, whereas all the navigators of the time thought of arriving in Asia; it is through him that America received its name .
This pen is realized in 2 versions, the basic version and a deluxe version.
The basic version is constituted of 500 pieces with a titanium nib and a bronze finishing, the deluxe version consists of 50 pieces with a 18K gold nib and 18k solid gold trim.
Vespucci is made out of teak, a material very much used in the naval world; its titanium nib is mounted on the patented DaVinci capless mechanism in order to associate the tradition to the new technology.
The knob is constituted by a wind rose which was widely adopted by the explorers of the time.
