Waterman Ideal 412 Filigree Overlay Fountain Pen
Waterman’s #412 Sterling Silver Filigree Fountain Pen with beautiful patina. Pen is a sterling silver overlay on black hard rubber. The pen is 5 1/4″ long. The 14K gold nib is medium, somewhat flexible and imprinted: “WATERMAN’S – IDEAL – NEW YORK – 2”. All sterling and hard rubber surfaces are smooth and shiny with no cracks, gouges or engraved names. The barrel imprints (in the sterling) read: “WATERMAN’S IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN” and “STERLING”. The underlying hard rubber is dark with only a slight occasional trace of oxidation. The pen uses the “eyedropper” filling system and the cap is a friction fit. The pen dates probably dates back to the 1910’s.
