Early Dunhill-Namiki “Spring Birds” fountain pen in black ebonite with urushi and maki-e. Gold birds in flight and scattered red petals wrap the cap and barrel in the classic Spring Birds motif—simple, balanced, and unmistakably vintage Namiki. No clip, lever-fill, No. 3 size.
Condition-Shows clear, honest wear throughout. The lacquer has visible micro-crazing, dulling, with age-softened gloss across the surface. The artwork remains attractive and the birds and petals are still well-formed. Ebonite shows some oxidation and handling marks consistent with age. Lever is straight and properly seated. No cracks noted. This pen can be used as a daily user as Im sure it was used this way for decades.
