Historical Significance
The design is based on the travel writing desks used during the “stagecoach era,” a time when traveling salesmen and artists required a portable base for correspondence. One of Pelikan’s founders, Günther Wagner, reportedly used a similar original during his own travels to write his many business and personal letters.
