The Aka-Fuji evokes the mountain at dawn—when sunlight turns Fuji’s slopes a deep crimson. Layers of red urushi lacquer form a luminous backdrop for the mountain’s snowcapped peak, rendered in fine rankaku eggshell. Gold maki-e clouds drift above, carrying the warm glow of the rising sun.
Gold cranes in flight and the dusting of reflective maki-e create a sense of movement and depth, while the red lacquer carries both warmth and strength—a symbol of fortune and vitality in Japanese art.
Fitted with Taccia’s two-tone 18K King of Pen nib made by Sailor Japan and fills via proprietary Sailor converter or Sailor ink cartridges—both included. Limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, it is a study of sunrise—light meeting form, captured in urushi and gold.
